  Creating a Role

Follow these steps to create a new Role in the User Manager:

Click the New button on the Roles chunk.

The CreateNew Role wizard will start.

The wizard includes the following steps:

  1. Click the ‘Next’ button to proceed to the dialogue windows described below.
  2. Role information – the new Role’s name.
  3. Location – specify the folder where your new Role will be stored. Proceed to the next window and click ‘Finish’.
    In Sitecore, Roles are used to group access rights associated with similar tasks. In this way, you can easily assign rights to a number of Users in a single step. Default Roles are Developers, Editors and Webmasters, but you can create additional Roles with any name you want. Role names have no effect on functionality.
